Recently

i have recently gained experience with young children during holiday clubs and birthday partys by doing face paints. this have given me extra experience with working with children and also i feel i can show some of the painting skills which i have learnt. i have also began taking responsibility for children which come to the Crèche in church. i think that both of these activities are helping me gain skills which will be use full with a future career in teaching.

Recent Work

Recently we were asked to do a transcription of a chosen oil painting. I found a very interesting artist  Bruni Sablan who seems to work as a portrait artist primarily. I really like the way in which she applies the paint and the strong use of line and brush marks. She is able to create a true likeness of the person without adding to much detail. i also like the use of colour in her work such as placing bright coloured paint were u wouldn't normally see it.

Here are a very of her paintings which i like.........

My work

I am starting to develop the way in which I paint. This painting is not finishes but is going will so far after I decided to squared up my chosen image. I am thinking of of painting a busy market place as my next image. i was thinking about this image.....

I like this image as i really like the use of bright colours and the way in which its not a planed image with people looking at the camera. I would properly paint it in the same way as the image above. but use more layer of paint applied a lot thicker.

London

I really liked this piece it was made as a costume which was worn to call the spirits in a dance.

The Benin Bronze was very interesting as i have some of knowledge on how these were made as my mother in law comes from benin, she said that she use to help her farther make benin bronzes. whist i was in the British Museum i joined a tours of the African Gallery were it was explained how these bronzes were made.

I like the use of colour within thus piece and how it looks soft but it is actually made out of metal.

I went to London with college on the a view weeks ago. I saw a lot of artistes work that interested me. What stood out the most for me was the African Exhibition in the British Museum. Normally im not very inspired by 3D art works as i normally work in 2D by they exhibition changed the way in which i look at 3D art works.

Artists work that i like

at the moment i am really intrested in Chris Ofili's Work.... I like the way in which he works with paint and creates different layers and also gives a 3D effect by layering the paint........
